The allegations of bullying made against Labor’s New South Wales MP Emma Husar were brought forward by numerous staff members.
Though Husar continues to deny these claims, the NSW Labor party is moving on.
Labor chooses former NSW state MP Diane Beamer
Since withdrawing Ms Husar’s endorsement, Labor has chosen former NSW state MP Diane Beamer in advance as their candidate for NSW’s seat of Lindsay in order to replace Husar.
Ms Husar has been battling accusations of staff bullying for a few months now, and recently disclosed plans for a defamation claim against media outlet Buzzfeed.
As reported by AAP, an independent investigation in August established that Ms Husar subjected staff to ‘unreasonable communication, demands, practices and disciplinary methods’.
Despite this, the investigation did not back claims made by staff of indelicate behaviour or sexual harassment.
